We cut out the cement wall (see windows in
above photo) for window well for egress to make a legal bed room and a second to
just make the family room sooooo much the better.
Not using the circa 1960's drop
ceiling and putting in a window well can make the basement feel like the rest of
the house.

After opening up the windows, moving the
furnace just a bit we framed for a family room and bedroom. Note the auxiliary
electric heat, a good idea if the homes basement is not separately zoned. A gas
stove, fireplace or pellet stove works well also. Note too the double pocket
doors leading to a large storage room. Incorporated into all our basement
designs is hiding the posts, pipes and the like so as to make it seam as much
like the upper floor(s) as possible.

Incorporated into all our basement designs
is hiding of posts, beams, pipes, vents, ducts, and the like so as to make it
seam as much like the upper floor(s) as possible. All while retaining openness!

Basement Bath finishing that was partly ready for drains
in floor, with custom cabinet.
If the first pic seams a bit bent, well ....it is. Tried
something new for a small room shot.
